One of the best places to find DVDs and Blu-Ray discs locally is at a pawn shop. Pawn shop’s are able to get the DVDs for very little cost and will work with you especially if you are wanting to buy a large quantity.

Look at the Pawn Shop’s selection and make sure they have a large enough selection of good titles before asking for a quantity discount. Approach the manager and ask what kind of deal they can make if you buy 50 DVDs. After their initial shock (believe me, they do not get this question often), they will most of the time give you a price per DVD which can sometimes be an amazing deal.

Visit the same pawn shops at least every month. They do not get many customers looking to buy in quantity, so you will be remembered. When I used to source DVDs from pawn shops, it got to the point where the managers would give me a call when they were about to put out a large amount of DVDs. Many pawn shop’s actually give their employees a commission on sales, so they are definitely willing to help you get the best deal possible!

Other places you can find DVDs and Blu-Ray discs locally are Garage Sales, Flea Markets, Used CD/Book Stores, Video Rental Stores, Library Sales, Retail Stores, Thrift Shops etc.

These were my two main suppliers for merchandise to sell on eBay several years ago. I have did over $500k in business with these two companies and I highly recommend trying to get an account with both. Let me be up front with you and let you know they are not looking for a customer that is going to spend $1,000 a month… They are looking for $30k + per month customers to be able to get prices to be competitive on eBay. Don’t let that scare you though. I didn’t have close to that amount prior to getting an account but was able to negotiate with the sales I was going to get in the future.

BidSpotter focuses mainly on industrial type products, but there is some great profit to be made if you take the time to do the proper research. One of the best things about BidSpotter is the research you can perform on the items that are offered. Each auction publishes the inventory list prior to the start date. You will have plenty of time to research the items you are interested in on eBay and come up with your maximum bid price. In addition, the website posts the winning bids of past auctions. BidSpotter has many of the same auctioneers as clients and those auctioneers usually sell the same type of items. You can easily check past auctions to see if it will be worth the effort to do the research on upcoming auctions.

BidSpotter offers two types of bidding. The first is live bidding. You can download their software and listen to the auction as it happens. Just wait for the item you are wanting to bid on and place your bid just like you would if you were actually at the auction. However, in this case you are at your computer with all the research tools you need to place an educated bid. The second type of bidding is absentee bidding. If you see some items you want to bid on before the auction starts and you won’t be in front of your computer during the live auction, you can place an absentee bid and your bid will be entered when the items are being bid on. In both cases, you must be pre-registered before you can bid.

Most of the auctions require you to arrange your own shipping. Therefore, you will be somewhat limited by location as it is not feasible to pick something up across the country. However, some auction companies do offer shipping. You will want to be aware of the costs involved in shipping prior to bidding.
